New Policies for Bench Warrants and Arrest Warrant Arraignments

The Santa Clara County Superior Court, in partnership with the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office, District Attorney’s Office, and Public Defender’s Office, has launched two new policies that will help reduce unnecessary jail bookings and improve court efficiency.

College Collaborative System

Incarcerated individuals spent the summer participating in a variety of college courses at Elmwood Correctional Facility, from culinary courses to Auto 101. The program is a partnership between six Bay Area community colleges and the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office to offer these individuals skills and training— with the hope that once they leave the system, they won’t return.
